Bonneville Speedway, UT

Depois que o seriado ingles "Top Gear" fez um especial aqui no EUA, o Kuba decidiu que tinha que seguir os passos (ou as marcas dos pneus) deles. No caminho de volta a Sacramento nos paramos na famosa Bonneville speedway - um lugar no meio do deserto, no planalto de sal, onde muitos vem testar seus carros e quebrar recordes de velocidade nas pistas de sal durante o verao Americano.

After the British TV show "Top Gear" (BBC America on Mondays and Saturdays! Totally worth it!) made a special in the US, Jakub decided to follow their footsteps (or tire tracks) and stop at the famous Bonneville speedway in UT. The place is in the middle of nowhere, in the middle of the salt flats of Utah. Many car enthusiasts make their way to the speedway every summer to test their cars and try to break world records for speed. This is Bonneville...

Pra mim o mais estranho eh que quando pensamos em "pista de corrida" pensamos em asfalto. Em Bonneville nao tem uma "pista". O governo simplesmente alisa o deposito de sal e isso eh que vira a pista.
To me the weirdest thing is that when we think of a race track, we think of asphalt. In Bonneville there is no "race track" like that. The government smooths the salt flats a bit and that becomes the track itself.
